The Parlamentarisches Patenschafts-Programm für junge Berufstätige (PPP) is a bilateral exchange program of the German Bundestag and the U.S. Congress. As a PPP participant, you will receive a comprehensive scholarship for a one-year stay in the USA. During your exchange year, you will get to know American everyday and professional life and represent Germany in the USA as a junior ambassador.
The aim and purpose of the PPP is to create a network of personal connections between people in the USA and Germany in order to consolidate common political values and get to know different ways of life in the other country. Members of the German Bundestag select the participants as junior ambassadors for Germany and serve as the participants’ “sponsors” during the program.
Host families, host companies, friends and acquaintances of the participants benefit from an intercultural exchange with young US and German scholarship holders.
Cultural Vistas carries out the PPP for young professionals, who are usually between 18 and 24 years old and have already gained some professional experience, on behalf of the German Bundestag.
For further information about the PPP, please visit the PPP für junge Berufstätige website. The program is funded in Germany by the German Bundestag and in the United States by Congress, via the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
